Activities of the Women of the Seven Seas

In 2020 the Women of the Seven Seas start to meet online for interviews and conferences and create this site.

In August 2021 the Women of the Seven Seas together with geheimagentur/secret agency hosts the first shefarers‘ parade of Hamburg with boats and ships with all female captains, with artists, activists and researchers, including members of Seawatch NGO. Other members of the Women of the Seven Seas are present via the Shefarers' Frequency, a radiostation, that was operated from the parade connecting the boats and ships of the parades as well as the Women of the Seven Seas around the world.

In summer 2022 three members of the Women of the Seven Seas, Koni and Dise from the Female Shefarers Association of Nigeria (FESAN), and Mary Mattingly from the Hudson River NYC come to Hamburg port for a residency. In a shefarers' salon at the international summerfestival at Kampnagel Hamburg the FESAN presents their work and their experiences visiting shipping companies in Hamburg port. Alongside the Salon geheimagentur / secret agency presents a lecture performance about the Women of the Seven Seas - past, present, future and fiction. In winter 2022 the lecture performance about the Women of the Seven Seas is shown in Barcelona at Teatre Lliure.

In 2023 the Women of the Seven Seas together with secret agency is present in the port of Ipswich UK at SPILL Festival searching / presenting the Shefarers of Ipswich, hosting a Shefarers' Banquett and Cruise and creating documentary evidence of the Shefarers of Ipswich in 2023 for the city archive.

In 2023 secret agency hands over the initiative to Nova Ruth, another member Women of the Seven Seas, who is spokesperson and founder of the Arka Kinari boat project in indonesian waters.  The takeover is manifested as part of an online symposium hosted by Nova from the Arka Kinari on July 6.

What water does to our brains

The water, like any of the larger intangible un-holdable natural systems --like sky and weather, will teach you things that will take you forever to learn on land.

Crossing the Equator (N/S 0°00.000´- E127°28.820`) we put the flags out greating all women of the seven seas while offering rice, flowers, knowledge and beauty to the floating water.
